Renewal of Vendors’ Licenses July 01, 2024 – June 30,2025

The National Conservation Commission Act stipulates that any person who desires to operate a business of selling goods or services in a public park, in a public garden or on a beach shall first obtain a license from the National Conservation Commission to do so. These licenses are valid for a period of one (1) year and are to be renewed annually during the month of June, providing that the vendor has not contravened any of the conditions of issue of their license.

The National Conservation Commission, under the National Conservation Commission’s Act, CAP 393, is therefore reminding all Vendors licensed to sell goods and/or services in a public park, in public gardens, on the beach etc., that    licenses must be renewed for the period July 2024 – June 2025 by June 30, 2024, to avoid any disruption to the operation of your businesses. Further, registered vendors are asked to note that licences that remain in arrears more than three (3) years will be rendered null and void.

Procedure

Vendors are asked to tender their payment to the Accounts Department of the National Conservation Commission, Codrington House, St. Michael between the hours of 8:30 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Mondays to Fridays.

As part of the renewal process, vendors should submit a recent Police Certificate of Character, which may be applied for online at forms.gov.bb. A recent health certificate is also required for vendors who sell food and/or drinks.

Further, licensed water sport operators are reminded that it is a requirement that valid copies of the registration and insurance certificates for their vessels must be produced in order to renew their license.

Vendors are also reminded that their licences are valid for one year and are not transferrable to any other person. They are also required to carry their licence book and vendor identification cards at all times while carrying out their trade.

Penalty

Vendors are also reminded that their licences are valid for one year and are not transferrable to any other person. They are also required to carry their licence book and vendor identification cards at all times while carrying out their trade. In addition, the holder of the licence shall not fight, use abusive language, or engage in unlawful behaviour of any kind, on the beach, park, or any other area designated by the Commission as a marketplace.

Holders of vending licences who fail to comply with regulations could have their licences revoked or suspended, while those caught vending illegally may face legal action.

Vendors in possession of licence books which remain unpaid, prior to June 30, are urged to update their licences immediately, in order to continue operating without disruption. Failure to do so will be considered as a lack of interest to continue to operate.
